SPQRobin
سلام، SPQRobin، وارَے چھٕوِسٲ؟ (Hello SPQRobin, How are you?)
I did indeed start localization. Unfortunately we are faced with a problem. All my localizations are placed as ks-arab, yet "ks-arab" does not seem to be default locale for Kashmiri as it should be. The same problem appears to exist with Uyghur, where default locale should be "ug-arab". So it's easier to use Mediawiki namespace to not worry about localization issues so much, since the real task is to build encyclopedia here. --خَرگوش ٠٠:٠١, ١٤ November ٢٠١١ (UTC)
- Localisation is an important part, because more people will join if the interface is translated well. Translating on translatewiki.net is easier, and ensures that the translations will be available on all wikis. As for your problem, "ks-arab" is the default localization (and "ug-arab" that of "ug"). The reason why it displays in Latin script on Uyghur Wikipedia is exactly because there are local messages (view locally modified messages). Why do you think "ks-arab" is not the default locale here? I don't really see any problem. SPQRobin ١٨:٠٠, ١٤ November ٢٠١١ (UTC)
- I deleted the local messages on ug.wikipedia so the default is now indeed Arabic script. SPQRobin ١٣:٣٠, ١٥ November ٢٠١١ (UTC)
Language name
اؠڈِٹI am not sure which is an appropriate place to discuss it, but the current named for Kashmiri in the interwikis is incorrect. It should be:
کٲشُر
Currently it is written in Hindi and Urdu, not in Kashmiri. --خَرگوش ٠٧:١٦, ١٤ November ٢٠١١ (UTC)
- I am able to change it, so I will do. I suppose the Hindi text (currently कश्मीरी) should also be changed? According to en:Kashmiri language, it should be कॉशुर. Is that correct? SPQRobin ١٨:٠٠, ١٤ November ٢٠١١ (UTC)
